In this, his last recording, the late, great Fred Trueman talks about cricket and life in the Dales in his own unique style. Harry Gration presents this rare archive footage and introduces some of his own favourite interviews with 'Fiery Fred' from down the years.

This recording began as a series of lengthy and memorable interviews that David Joy had with Fred Trueman at his home in the first half of 2006. They were intended to form the basis of a collection of his humorous tales of life on and off the pitch, for the book Trueman's Tales.

With Fred's untimely death, these were to become the final recordings of not only a cricketing legend but also the great raconteur, well reknown for his sharp humour and enthralling storytelling.

BBC presenter Harry Gration worked with Fred many times through his career and brings together a fitting commentary, with his personal recollection of Fred and archive interviews.
