The experience of listening, whether for education or entertainment, to a great voice reading great poetry and prose is something very special.
Over the last few years it has become clear that some timeless recordings of wonderful poetry and prose will be lost to future generations. There are already many recordings that used to be widely available that have become increasingly rare.
Over the years I have collected over 4000 audiobooks, 2000 of which, at any one time, are available through this website. Some of the exceptional Narrators of the last century are no longer with us and some fabulous new Narrators have taken their place. The simply stunning performances of the famous BBC Lord of the Rings dramatisation, an essential listen, and Richard Burton's rendition of Dylan Thomas verses are classics of the recorded voice.
In the near future I will talk about my experiences with audio Poetry. It has been a wonderful eye-opening time and one I hope to share with as many people as possible.
